Tinnitus Problems-Personal Story of Hearing Doorbells Ringing
Tinnitus problems is one of those ailments that you might have heard about or read about but may not recognize if it happens to you. That was the case for me as a 40+ year old male.
It kind of started happening suddenly when I would normally awaken from a clear and distinct sound of the front doorbell ringing. It did happen more than once when I was fully awaken but more often when I was in a deep daydream or even dozing off.
The first time it happened I literally sat up asking who was at the door. It was a strange feeling but there was no question in my mind that I heard a doorbell. I recall another instance when I was resting on the couch and the doorbell rang so loud that I jumped up to see who was there. Nobody.
I never really put it together that I may be suffering from some form of Tinnitus because I didn’t really listen to loud music all day or work with a company or tools that produced such noises. So, it literally never popped into my mind that Tinnitus could be the culprit.
However, after going to the hospital one day for a totally unrelated issue, I discovered that I had high blood pressure. The doctor gave me some medications to help bring it down and two things happened. The first was that I pretty much stopped getting major headaches as I was in the past. The second thing that happened is that I have not heard any ringing doorbells since.
Since then, I’ve done a little research and learned that there are a multitude of ways one can eventually suffer from Tinnitus with exposure to loud sounds and music being one of the top. Another possibility is to have high blood pressure. Some believe that the strain on your vessels and the impact on your inner ear and brain may bring about unwanted sounds.
In my personal case, it was the clear and distinct sound of a ringing bell. In your case, it can be any number of sounds like water, buzzing, clicking, drilling, barking, or a host of other noises. At this point, there is no real cure for tinnitus but there are some treatments and tinnitus natural remedies that may help you to deal with your problem.
The first step is to recognize that you are having an issue and that it may be tinnitus. Mention it to your doctor and work together to get a diagnosis. The worst thing to do is to guess as to whether or not it is tinnitus. In some situations, people literally think they are going crazy because they are hearing noises in their head. However, there is a big difference between hearing voices and hearing sounds and the latter just might be a simple case of Tinnitus.
