William Shatner Tinnitus Story

The William Shatner Tinnitus story is something that other sufferers want to know about because he is famous and people like to see how others handle the same problem that they have.

If you are a Star Trek fan, then you already know that Mr. Shatner is best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk on the long running show. According to Shatner, it was actually on the set for a Star Trek episode that he got injured and ultimately exposed to tinnitus.

In the video shown below, he talks about how he was standing too close to a special effects explosion and that ultimately led to his tinnitus. Obviously, he is not the only famous person that suffers with tinnitus. Mr. Spock (Nemoy) was also said to have tinnitus as well as Sylvester Stallone (Rocky).

As actors, all of these men were routinely exposed to loud sounds and explosions on their sets and this put them in danger of having tinnitus later in life. The lesson to be learned here is to protect your hearing at all costs and hopefully you can avoid this problem in the future.

As you will see from the video, William Shatner has been a spokesperson for the American Tinnitus Association and has some pretty powerful words for others like him who have to deal with tinnitus on a daily basis.
